Orioles vice president Jim Duquette said he exchanged text messages with Brian Roberts yesterday and assured the second baseman that he is "not going anywhere," according to the Baltimore Sun. Roberts has been mentioned in recent trade rumors, including one involving the Braves. Orioles owner Peter Angelos informed team executives that he wouldn't approve the deal.
