Eric Byrnes could still be bound for Boston as the Red Sox need a fourth outfielder and the Diamondbacks have financial constraints, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View:The Red Sox previously proposed Julio Lugo for Byrnes, but Arizona opted to add Felipe Lopez instead. But a deal could still be revisited, potentially including catcher Miguel Montero.

The East Valley Tribune reports that the Diamondbacks have received multiple inquiries regarding outfielder Eric Byrnes. He has a no-trade clause in his contract, but he would think about waiving it if the team wants to move him. Still, the Diamondbacks indicated that any deal involving Byrnes is currently unlikely.

Our View:Byrnes has two years and $22 million left on his contract and any team inquiring about him is also likely to be looking at other players within Arizona's organization.

Arizona outfielder Eric Byrnes has a no-trade clause in his contract, but he would think about waiving it if the team wants to move him, according to the Arizona Republic. “No one wants to be somewhere that they’re not wanted, so if it came down to that, sure,” he said.

Our View:Byrnes still has $22 million coming to him, and is coming off an injury-plagued season where he hit .209, so it will be difficult to move him in the first place. The fact that they signed him and moved Carlos Quentin will certainly sting Diamondbacks fans even more if Byrnes is moved.

Eric Byrnes could be dealt in the off-season, according to the Arizona Republic.

Our View:Byrnes would be difficult to trade as he is coming off an injury plagued season and is owed $22 million over the next two seasons. But the Diamondbacks could look to match up his contract with another team's unfavorable contract, like that of Mets' second baseman Luis Castillo, who is owed $18 million through 2011.

Eric Byrnes is not likely to return to the team this season as he tries to come back from a hamstring tear, according to the Arizona Republic.

Our View:This makes the Carlos Quentin trade even more of a punch to the gut for Diamondbacks fans. The team gave Byrnes a big contract in the offseason, making Quentin expendable, and Byrnes responded with a .209 average and six home runs while Quentin could be the MVP of the American League in Chicago.
