Player Notes
January 12, 2010
The Braves officially announced their signing of Eric Hinske to a one-year, $1 million deal on Tuesday, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Our View:Hinske will serve as a utility player all around the field while also pinch hitting. He's played in the last three World Series, so hopefully he can bring his good fortune to Atlanta.
January 5, 2010
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the Braves have signed free agent utility player Eric Hinske.

Our View:No financial details have been released yet and the deal is pending a physical. The 32-year old split time with the Yankees and Pirates last season hitting .242 with eight homers and 32 RBI in 190 at-bats. He will be a versatile addition for the Braves as he can play both corner infield and outfield spots.
October 27, 2009
After not appearing on either the Yankees' ALDS or ALCS rosters, Eric Hinske will be with the team for the World Series, according to the New York Post.

Our View:The move comes at the expense of pinch runner extraordinaire Freddy Guzman. Hinske will be used as primarily as a pinch hitter.
July 20, 2009
Eric Hinske hit a solo home run, his fifth jack of the season and fourth with the Yankees, on Monday.

Our View:Hinske's four home runs in pinstripes have come in just 15 at-bats. Meanwhile, his competition in right field, Nick Swisher, has hit just .206 with seven home runs in 204 at-bats since the start of May. This is definitely a situation to monitor, as Hinske could gain real fantasy relevance if he starts to play everyday in right field.
July 11, 2009
Eric Hinske is in the Yankees lineup and batting eighth against the Angels on Saturday, according to Newsday.

Our View:This is only Hinske's third start since coming to the Yankees. He should see an increase in power playing in Yankee Stadium, but won't play nearly enough to warrant any fantasy consideration.
