Josh Fogg is still considered an option for the Rockies (on a minor league deal), according to the Denver Post.

Our View:He would be an inexpensive alternative if the does not add Tim Redding or Jason Marquis.
December 12, 2008
The Rockies reportedly have mild interest in bringing back pitcher Josh Fogg, according to the Denver Post.

Our View:Fogg is a good character for the clubhouse, and would provide adequate depth to the pitching staff if brought back to Colorado.
November 19, 2008
The Rockies are yet to display interest in hurler Josh Fogg, according to the Denver Post.

Our View:He would be a solid fit for Colorado, as he is a good player for clubhouse morale, and would provide favorable depth to the pitching staff.
September 9, 2008
Josh Fogg, who had been battling a groin injury, has been placed on the 60-day DL, according to the AP.

Our View:Fogg officially puts an end to a disappointing 2008 campaign in which he went 2-7 with a 5.17 ERA and 1.58 WHIP.
September 6, 2008
MLB.com reports that Josh Fogg will miss his scheduled start on Tuesday due to a sore groin. Ramon Ramirez will take the mound instead. "I don't think I got it as bad as, obviously, some guys do," said Fogg, who has compiled a 2-7 record to go along with a 7.58 ERA this season. "It's sore but it's not nearly as bad as last year. I guess we'll just wait and see over the next few days and see what happens."

Our View:Fogg has pitched poorly this season. The 25 year old Ramirez on the other hand shows some promise. In his August 30th start against the Giants, he lasted seven innings, struck out six and gave up just three runs.
September 4, 2008
Reds pitcher Josh Fogg had to exit his start on Thursday after three innings because of a right groin strain, according to Reds.com. He was injured while running the bases.

Our View:Fogg had already given up five earned runs anyway, so his time on the mound would not have lasted much longer. The extent of the injury is not yet known.
August 17, 2008
Josh Fogg was originally scheduled to pitch on Tuesday against the Cubs at Wrigley Field, but he's now slated to start on Friday in Colorado, which would have been Edinson Volquez's normal turn, according to MLB.com. Manager Dusty Baker said, "We wanted to give Edinson an extra day. He's approaching innings that he's never done before. I'm encouraging these young guys to stay on the program, to continue to run and stay strong."

Our View:Johnny Cueto will now pitch on Tuesday, Bronson Arroyo goes on Wednesday, Aaron Harang follows on Thursday, with Fogg on Friday and Volquez on Saturday.
August 13, 2008
Josh Fogg threw another ineffective game, going 4.2 innings, surrendering four earned runs on six hits in his team's 5-2 loss to Pittsburgh.

Our View:Fogg has been bad this season, and believe it or not, his ERA actually dropped after this performance, from 7.98 to 7.96.
August 7, 2008
Josh Fogg was hit hard, getting the loss in Cincinnati's 7-4 loss to Houston. Fogg gave up six earned runs in four innings, and his ERA rose to a hideous 7.98.

Our View:His ERA is 7.98. So no, he should not be used on anybody's fantasy roster.
July 27, 2008
Josh Fogg is feeling better after being hit in the lip by a Joey Votto line drive in batting practice earlier in the week, and is ready to return to the Reds' rotation Sunday, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.

Our View:Fogg was solid in his last start as he only allowed one earned run against the Mets, and is worth consideration for NL-only leagues for Sunday.
July 23, 2008
Josh Fogg is expected to miss his next start due to the split lip he sustained Tuesday during batting practice, according to the AP. The wound required 30 stitches.

Our View:Fogg was scheduled to take the hill Friday, but Edinson Volquez will cover his spot instead. With Thursday off, Volquez will still be pitching on his usual four days rest.
July 22, 2008
SI.com reports that Josh Fogg received 30 stitches after being hit in the mouth by a ball during batting practice Tuesday.

Our View:This will put his Friday start in question. We'll keep you posted.
July 22, 2008
Josh Fogg was hit during batting practice on Tuesday and suffered a split lip according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.

Our View:It's hard to imagine this incident would cause him to miss his Friday's start, but we've seen whimpier acts from baseball players.
July 19, 2008
Josh Fogg was terrific again for the Reds Saturday, allowing just one run on eight hits and a walk while striking out one over six innings in a win over the Mets.

Our View:Fogg has been terrific since filling in for the injured Aaron Harang, posting a 2.55 ERA and 1.08 WHIP in three starts. He'll get the Rockies at home next week.
July 5, 2008
Josh Fogg allowed just one run over six innings in a masterful job stepping in for Aaron Harang. Fogg allowed just one walk and six hits over the six innings with only one K.

Our View:Fogg would appear to have pitched himself back into the Reds plans moving foward with this effort, though he could still be sent back to the minors if the team deems Harang to be healthy enough for his next start.
July 5, 2008
Josh Fogg will come off the DL on Saturday and start in place of Aaron Harang against the Nationals, the Cincinnati Enquirer confirms. Fogg has been on the DL due to back spasms.

Our View:We know it's only the Nationals, but there's no reason for fantasy owners to like Fogg's chances.
June 9, 2008
Josh Fogg is scheduled to make a rehab start on Tuesday at Single-A Sarasota, according to MLB.com. He is recovering from lower back spasms.

Our View:Fogg should be back by the end of the month, and he's likely to pitch out of the bullpen.
June 1, 2008
The Reds placed Josh Fogg on the 15-day DL on Sunday due to a sore back, the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Our View:Fantasy owners won't miss the 9.85 ERA.
May 31, 2008
Josh Fogg was lit up for six runs on seven hits over a mere 3.1 innings of work in Saturday's 8-7 win over Atlanta. He had two walks and no strikeouts, and ended the contest with a no decision.

Our View:His ERA has now climbed to 9.85 for the season. He should not be considered as a fantasy pitcher.

Josh Fogg is believed to be on the Rockies' radar, according to the Denver Post. The Rockies rotation is hurting with mechanics issues and injuries right now, and the team is discussing a possible trade for Fogg, as well as Julian Tavarez of the Red Sox. The Rockies also targeted Oakland's Rich Harden and Joe Blanton, and Texas' Kevin Millwood. Harden is injured, Blanton is currently unavailable. And while the Rangers will listen to offers for Millwood, they want the right players in return, not salary relief. Rockies GM Dan O'Dowd said, "It's early in the year, and there a lot of clubs sorting through issues, and when they get through them that's about the same time that Hirsh, Morales and Reynolds should be ready to help us. So I am trying to find one guy for six or seven starts."

Our View:Colorado is searching for a pitcher to solidify the rotation until Franklin Morales, Greg Reynolds and the injured Jason Hirsh are ready to contribute sometime in June. Fogg is sitting in the Reds' bullpen right now, and could help as he previously won 10 games for Colorado. Boston's Tavarez is also a former member of the Rockies.
April 16, 2008
Josh Fogg fell to 1-2 on the year after he was torched for nine runs, all earned, in just two innings against the Cubs on Wednesday night.

Our View:Fogg hasn't been able to get anyone out this season and unless he does something pretty impressive pretty soon, the team may be forced to call up Homer Bailey to give him a look.
April 5, 2008
RHP Josh Fogg gave every fan in Cincinnati reason to dread the season that lies ahead in the Reds' 4-8 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies yesterday. In Fogg's first start of the year, six runs were surrendered (all earned) on five hits over four innings. Fogg totaled 83 pitches, surrendered two home runs, and now carries an ERA of 13.50.
March 18, 2008
Josh Fogg wasn't on top of his game during Tuesday's outing. "Fogg was missing," Cincinnati manager Dusty Baker said, according to the AP. "We had some defensive miscues. He's the kind of pitcher that needs good defense and needs to locate his pitches." In the end, Fogg allowed six runs (three earned), five hits and a walk. He had only allowed three runs during his previous four outings, so this didn't help him make a case for a rotation spot.
March 14, 2008
Josh Fogg pitched five innings and combined with four relief pitchers to hold the Pittsburgh Pirates to just six hitter as the Reds emerged victorious 5-0 in a split-squad game for both teams, according to the Associated Press. Fogg allowed three hits and a walk while striking out three. Fogg, who won 10 games for National League champion Colorado last season, did not sign with Cincinnati as a free agent until after spring training started last month. He has given up only three runs in 13 innings in four games despite the late start, a great voice of support for his effort to earn a spot in the bottom of the Reds' starting rotation.
February 28, 2008
Josh Fogg, in his first appearance with the Reds, pitched two scoreless innings in which he gave up only one hit. Matt Belisle also hurled two scoreless innings for the Reds. Fogg, Belisle and Edinson Volquez will likely battle for the last two spots in the Reds rotation, so the first two men mentioned got off to a great start today.
February 21, 2008
Josh Fogg , who has been rumored as a possible arm that would be added to a suspect Reds rotation, is in Florida taking a physical for Cincinnati. The Enquirer is reporting that the Reds signed the right-hander to a one-year deal for $1 million on Thursday afternoon.
February 20, 2008
Josh Fogg is on the verge of signing a one-year deal with the Reds, according to the Rocky Mountain News. He would get just $1 million in base salary, which has to be a huge letdown given that Fogg was looking for a multi-year deal heading into the offseason. Fogg would be slotted into a rotation that's likely to include Aaron Harang, Bronson Arroyo, Matt Belisle and Homer Bailey. We don't like the righty's chances at much success anywhere, and that certainly doesn't change with him going to one of the most hitter-friendly parks around.
February 5, 2008
The Orioles are interested in bringing in free agent right-hander Josh Fogg, according to the Denver Post. The Post also reports that the Twins could be interested, though the Minneapolis Star-Tribune has shot down those rumors. The O's will have a big hole to fill once the Erik Bedard trade goes down, and although Fogg isn't in the same league as Bedard, he would at least give the club some depth.
February 1, 2008
The Twins contacted Josh Fogg's agent Thursday, and appear serious about adding the veteran right-hander if the Johan Santana deal goes through with the Mets, according to the Denver Post. Fogg confirmed the Twins have expressed interest, but said there has been no offer yet. That could happen as soon as today if Santana completes negotiations with the Mets on a contract extension. Fogg was 10-9 with a 4.94 ERA and a 1.54 WHIP last season for the NL champion Rockies and would be merely rotation filler in Minnesota.
