Doug Davis has officially signed a one-year deal with the Brewers worth $4.25MM, according to the Sports Network. The contract includes a mutual option for 2011.

Our View:Milwaukee praised his durability, and also the fact that he puts in quality starts, hence giving the club a chance to win every time he takes the hill. The 34-year-old vet previously pitched with the Brewers from 2003-06, and decided to return as he wants a chance to pitch in the postseason.

After days of speculation, the Brewers signed lefty Doug Davis to a one-year, $4.25 million deal on Wednesday, according to Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. The deal includes a $6.5 million option for 2011.

Our View:Davis pitched in Milwaukee from 2003-2006, so the two parties are not unfamiliar with each other. In 2004 and 2005, he posted the only sub-4.00 ERAs and sub-1.40 WHIPs of his career, so this should be a good move for his fantasy value, too. That being said, he is nothing more than a roster filler in most average sized mixed leagues.

The Brewers are still talking to Doug Davis, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

Our View:The club still has Mark Mulder on their radar as well. Davis held a 4.12 ERA over 34 starts with Arizona in 2009, and the 34-year-old vet could be a nice fit for the back of Milwaukee's rotation if signed.

Free agent lefty Doug Davis is currently drawing interest from four teams, according to Fox Sports.

Our View:Davis has been a seemingly forgotten commodity this offseason, likely due to his 1.50 WHIP from last season. While he has never been confused with being an elite pitcher, he would still be a solid addition to the back-end of many teams' rotations. The Twins, Brewers, Mets and Nationals are all believed to be interested in his services.
