Ben Sheets will keep the option open, but ultimately does not expect to remain in Milwaukee when he enters free agency, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

Our View:Sheets has put in eight year's of service with Milwaukee, while maintaining a 3.72 ERA. He is dealing with a muscle tear near his elbow, but will still likely generate solid interest on the free agent market.
September 30, 2008
Ben Sheets has been left off the Brewers' postseason roster, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

Our View:He is dealing with a muscle tear near his elbow, and was viewed as a longshot to pitch again this year. The Brewers snuck into the playoffs as the wildcard and must battle the NL East champion Phillies without their best pitcher.
September 29, 2008
Ben Sheets is not likely to be on the Brewers' active roster for the first round of the playoffs, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. Sheets said, "I’m going to be a cheerleader for a while. I ain’t got no choice. It doesn’t look good to pitch again this year but you never know. I won’t stop trying."

Our View:Sheets set a new season-high in wins with 13, but it does not look favorable that he will be able to help the club in the playoffs.
September 27, 2008
It was not a good start for Ben Sheets on Saturday. In the Brewers' 7-3 loss to the Cubs, Sheets went only 2.1 giving up five hits and three earned runs.

Our View:This might have been the last start for Sheets as a Brewers as he will test free-agency in 2009.
September 26, 2008
Ben Sheets is penciled in as the Brewers' starting pitcher for Saturday, according to ths Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

Our View:Sheets said he is feeling good enough to start, but Dave Bush will be on standby until game time just in case he suffers a setback regarding his elbow.
