Player Notes
August 8, 2008
Jim Edmonds went deep twice on Friday for the Cubs in their 11 inning victory over the Cardinals, 3-2.

Our View:Edmonds is up to 15 home runs and 44 RBI after being left for dead by the Padres with 14 of those home runs and 38 of his RBI coming with the Cubs in just 56 games. Believe it or not, Edmonds is once again relevant in all mixed leagues.
August 4, 2008
Cubs outfielder Jim Edmonds has an outstanding match-up tonight against Houston pitcher Brian Moehler. Edmonds his hitting .351 (13-for-37) for his career against the righty, with four doubles and six home runs.

Our View:Surely Cubs manager Lou Piniella knows this and Edmonds will be playing. If you have him on your fantasy squad, be sure to get him in your lineup.
July 31, 2008
Cubs outfielder Jim Edmonds went 2-for-3 with two home runs and five RBI in Chicago's 11-4 win in Milwaukee. One of his home runs was a grand slam.

Our View:Edmonds missed the last three games with a sore left knee, but he returned to help the Cubs sweep Milwaukee. He remains an iffy fantasy performer, but from time-to-time he can still make things happen.
July 30, 2008
Jim Edmonds was held out of Tuesday's lineup, despite indicating he was ready to return to action, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. He has been nursing a sore left knee.

Our View:The team trainer thought another day of rest would do him good. Another reason Edmonds was held out is the fact that he is a .204 career hitter against Ben Sheets (with 18 strikeouts), who was the opposing hurler for Milwaukee.
July 25, 2008
Jim Edmonds has reported improvement in his sore left knee, and skipper Lou Piniella expects him back in action over the weekend, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

Our View:Edmonds, who had a precautionary MRI exam on the surgically repaired knee Thursday, was forced to leave Tuesday's game when the pain flared up late in the contest.
