MLive.com reports that the Tigers have contacted Aubrey Huff to inform him that they will not re-sign the free agent outfielder.

Our View:This is no big shocker as the Tigers are trying to shed payroll and Huff was brutal at the plate after coming over in a trade from Baltimore. In 40 games the former Oriole hit just .189 with a pair of homers and 13 RBI for his new club. Someone looking for outfield power will likely come calling though.

According to MLB.com's Jason Beck, the Tigers have acquired Aubrey Huff from the Orioles for pitching prospect Brett Jacobson.

Our View:This is a great move for Detroit, who is giving up only a rookie league pitching prospect for a player that could play third base, the outfield or DH for them. He is having a slightly down season, batting just .253 with 13 home runs, but should still help Detroit's sputtering offense nonetheless.
August 12, 2009
Aubrey Huff went deep for the 13th time on Wednesday, but it wasn't enough as the Orioles fell to the A's by a score of 6-3. Huff went 1-for-4 with the homer, a run scored, and two RBI.

Our View:Huff has been a pretty big disappointment this season, and his average is currently sitting at .254. He does, however, have 70 RBI, which is a pretty solid number for this point in the season. If you can sacrifice average and need an RBI boost, he might not be a terrible pickup at this point.
July 30, 2009
Aubrey Huff had his first three-RBI game since July 3 on Thursday, helping the Orioles batter the Royals and Luke Hochevar 7-3.

Our View:Huff is still batting just .250, but has a decent shot at his second straight 100 RBI season.
July 4, 2009
Aubrey Huff was 2-for-4 with a three run homer in the Orioles' 6-4 win over the Angels on Friday.

Our View:Huff broke out of a 2-for-17 skid with a big night on Friday. He now has 11 homers and 55 RBI on the season and would be a fine fantasy performer if he wasn't stuck at a loaded position (first base).
