Giants general manager Brian Sabean has stated that newly-signed Aubrey Huff will bat cleanup for San Francisco in 2010, according to the San Jose Mercury News' Andrew Baggarly.

Our View:That would likely sandwich Huff between Pablo Sandoval and Mark DeRosa and make Huff for an intriguing sleeper candidate that can probably be picked in the later rounds of your draft.

The Giants and Aubrey Huff finalized their one-year, $3 million deal on Wednesday, according to the team's official site.

Our View:Look for Huff to be used primarily at first base while batting somewhere in the middle of San Francisco's lineup. His excellent 2008 campaign was clearly a bit of a fluke, but he's still a capable hitter with some pop that deserves a look in the later rounds of most fantasy leagues.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Aubrey Huff has passed his physical and the Giants are expected to officially announce him on Wednesday.

Our View:This signing gives the Giants plenty of infield flexibility, but the standard lineup more often than not will likely feature Huff at first, Pablo Sandoval at third and Mark DeRosa in left field. Juan Uribe will either play short or be a super-utility guy off the bench.
January 10, 2010
According to the San Francisco Chronicle in San Francisco, the Giants and Aubrey Huff have agreed on a one-year deal worth $3 million.

Our View:Huff split time at first base and DH last season with the Tigers, but he could factor in to the Giants third base scenario this season. They now have Pablo Sandoval, Mark DeRosa, Huff and Juan Uribe to choose from for their corner infield spots and will likely mix and match as the season progresses. Huff didn't have a great season last year with just a .241 average, but he did club 15 homers and drive in 85 runs. He has the potential to add some power to a lineup that desperately needs it.
November 13, 2009
MLive.com reports that the Tigers have contacted Aubrey Huff to inform him that they will not re-sign the free agent outfielder.

Our View:This is no big shocker as the Tigers are trying to shed payroll and Huff was brutal at the plate after coming over in a trade from Baltimore. In 40 games the former Oriole hit just .189 with a pair of homers and 13 RBI for his new club. Someone looking for outfield power will likely come calling though.
