The White Sox apparently plan to use both Aaron Rowand and Willie Harris in center field, even with the addition of Carl Everett, who will apparently be used as the DH.

As expected, the White Sox recalled Aaron Rowand from Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday. He was hitting just .242 (.316 OBP) with three homers in 120 at-bats before his promotion. He hit just .133 in 60 at-bats for the Sox earlier in the year.

The White Sox wanted to give Aaron Rowand a full month to get his game going after the outfielder spent the offseason recovering from a motorcycle accident, according to the Daily Southtown. But he\'s still hitting only .132 and Willie Harris is hitting .410 in the minors. Rowand may not have much more time to turn things around.

Aaron Rowand was benched again on Thursday, even though the Sox had suggested he would be back in the starting lineup. Manager Jerry Manuel said "I hope it's not a permanent thing." Rowand is certainly on thin ice though; Armando Rios has been playing well and Willie Harris has been tearing it up in the minors.

White Sox manager Jerry Manuel keeps saying that Aaron Rowand is his center fielder, but he has started Armando Rios the last couple of games, according to the Daily Southtown. "If Rios has a (good) month (or) two months, then we're able to put (Rowand) in different positions because he can play all three outfield positions and he can play first base," Manuel said. It looks like Rios will start in center as long as his bat stays hot.

Aaron Rowand is hitting only .188 this season, but he's still got a job, according to the Daily Southtown. White Sox manager Jerry Manuel said Rowand is "still my starting center fielder." However, Rowand was out of the lineup Sunday and probably will sit out Tuesday as well.

Although no broken bones are suspected, Rowand required stitches to close a one-inch gash, and he may not swing a bat again before the end of the week. Rowand, who is coming back from injuries sustained in an offseason motorcycle accident, is not expected to play the outfield until March 14.

Aaron Rowand said he is almost 100 percent recovered from injuries sustained in a dirt bike accident last fall, according to the Daily Southtown. Rowand broke his left scapula, two ribs and nearly punctured an artery that likely would have caused him to bleed to death in minutes, when he tumbled off a 25-foot embankment.
