Player Notes
October 3, 2008
Juan Rivera replaces Gary Matthews Jr. in right field in Friday's Game 2 for the Angels according to the Orange County Register.

Our View:Rivera hit .246 this season for the Angels. Perhaps worse than that was his .282 OBP.
September 15, 2008
The benefits of having clinched a playoff spot early were evident for the Angels on Sunday as their entire starting outfield got the day off due to various ailments. While all could have played if it were a playoff-type game, Manager Mike Scioscia sat Torii Hunter (quadriceps), Vladimir Guerrero (knee) and Juan Rivera (hip).

Our View:Hunter is expected to return on Tuesday, while Guerrero and Rivera should be back in the next two games.
September 14, 2008
The Sports Network reports Rivera left Saturday's game with a right hip flexor.

Our View:Consider him day-to-day.
September 13, 2008
Juan Rivera went 4-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's 5-2 win over Seattle. He hit three doubles and a two-run homer.

Our View:Rivera looks to remain a favorable source of production for AL-only leagues over the final two weeks of the season while replacing Gary Matthews Jr. in the outfield.
July 25, 2008
Juan Rivera extended his eight-game hitting streak on Friday with a second inning home run in the Angels 6-5 win.

Our View:Rivera has been playing in place of Gary Matthews, Jr., and as long as he is hitting well, that will continue.
