September 24, 2008
A.J. Pierzynski was moved down to the eighth spot in the order and was 2-for-4 in the White Sox's 3-2 loss to the Twins.

Our View:Pierzynski has been struggling in the month of September with only 13 hits in 63 at-bats for an average of .206.
September 10, 2008
A.J. Pierzynski had a good night at the dish on Wednesday as he went 2-for-4 with three RBI against the Blue Jays. He is currently hitting .290 overall.

Our View:The annoying one has had a fine bounce back season after years poor .263 batting average. While far from being a top shelf run producer, he has hit at least 11 home runs with 50 RBI in each of the past six seasons, something only he can claim amongst all major league backstops.
August 20, 2008
A.J. Pierzynski went 3-for-5 with three RBI and two runs scored and hit his 12th home run of the season as Chicago buried the Mariners, 15-3.

Our View:Pierzynski has a modest five-game hitting streak, and is certainly someone fantasy owners can use behind the plate, despite his aversion to walks.
August 7, 2008
White Sox catcher A.J. Pierzynski went 0-for-5 in his team's loss to the Tigers, dropping his batting average to .288.

Our View:Pierzynski is still a valuable fantasy player, especially at catcher. He was hitting well in August, and that should resume in time.
August 3, 2008
A.J. Pierzynski had two hits, including his ninth home run of the year, in the White Sox 14-3 thrashing at the hands of the Royals.

Our View:Pierzynski was at the center of yet another brawl on this day as he took a punch to the head from Miguel Olivo who ignited a bench clearing brawl after being hit by a pitch.
July 25, 2008
A.J. Pierzynski went 0-for-3 with a strikeout but still managed to drive in a run with a sacrifice fly.

Our View:Pierzynski has cooled down in July, and is hitting under .260 for the month. More troubling is the fact he has struck out 18 times in 61 at-bats on the month. He struck out just 10 times in 95 at-bats in June.
July 13, 2008
A.J. Pierzynski has a lower left bone bruise, and though the injury is not thought to be serious, he will not be in today's lineup, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Our View:This isn't a big deal, so if you have him on your fantasy team, don't worry. He should be good to go after the All-Star break.
July 12, 2008
Reports out of Chicago note White Sox catcher A.J. Pierzynski has been pulled from tonight's game against the Rangers in the fourth inning after being hit in the foot by a Kevin Millwood pitch, according to ChicagoSports.com.

July 2, 2008
It was a hard-fought battle, but the White Sox emerged 6-5 over the Cleveland Indians this evening with eight hits spread through six hitters. Catcher A.J. Pierzynski was weapon of choice, going 2-for-5 with two homers on the night, good for two RBIs and two runs scored.

Our View:Pierzynski quietly hit .326 last month though his run production is lacking (just 11 RBIs through June). Getting off the hump and driving runs in should be priority #1 to improve his offerings moving forward.
June 22, 2008
A.J. Pierzynski was held hitless on Sunday night ending his 15-game hitting streak.

Our View:Amazingly, A.J. started the streak hitting .279 and ends it hitting just .299, only .013 points above his career mark.
June 20, 2008
A.J. Pierzynski hit his hit his fifth home run of the season on Friday afternoon to extend his hitting streak to 14-games.

Our View:A.J. is hitting .306, this a year after suffering through a prolonged drought that led to just a .263 average. Whether you love or hate the guy, his production has certainly been a nice bonus this year, especially with other catchers failing to live up to expectations.
June 19, 2008
A.J. Pierzynski went 2-for-5 in yet another White Sox offensive onslaught against Pittsburgh. The catcher now has a 13-game hitting streak.

June 11, 2008
A.J. Pierzynski extended his hitting streak to eight game with a 2-for-3 performance on Tuesday night against the Tigers. In fact the White Sox catcher is hot. His two hits last night gives him five multi-hit games during his current streak.

May 16, 2008
A.J. Pierzynski, taking a liking to the second hole in the order, knocked out three hits leading to an RBI and a run scored for the White Sox on Thursday night.

Our View:After falling to just a .263 batting average last season, A.J,. has rediscovered his stroke in the early going as he is hitting .315 thanks in part to an 8-game hitting streak that has him hitting .452. Ride it while it lasts but a regression is likely in the cards so don't get too cocky.
May 8, 2008
A.J. Pierzynski is sitting out today, according to the Star Tribune. Toby Hall got the call at catcher, and is batting ninth in the order.

Our View:Pierzynski is enjoying a productive season as he is hitting .297 with three homers, 16 RBI, and 17 runs scored over 31 games. The 31-year old should continue to provide great value as a late-round fantasy catcher.
April 30, 2008

April 22, 2008
A.J. Pierzynski went 2-for-5 with a solo homer against the Yankees on Tuesday.

Our View:The catcher has been pretty quiet since his award-winning opening week, and it's good to see him knock one out again. He remains a solid No. 2 fantasy backstop.
April 15, 2008
