The Tigers have re-signed shortstop Adam Everett to a one-year deal, according to the team.

Our View:Everett is a defensive specialist who hit .238 in 118 games last season. In 815 career games, he has hit only 40 home runs.

Contrary to previous reports, the Nationals are not interested in shortstop Adam Everett, according to MLB.com. The team plans to spend their money on pitching, and they don't feel Everett bring enough offense to the table.

Our View:It looks like the Nats are happy with Ian Desmond as their starting shortstop heading into the season, as Cristain Guzman has moved to second base. If there was a cost-effective shorstop available with some offensive potential the team might be interested, but don't look for Everett to be on the radar.

Adam Everett performed well in Wednesday's 4-2 loss at the Angels, as he went 2-for-4 with a single and a two-run homer off Joe Saunders.

Our View:Everett was in need of a solid performance as he was hitless over his previous three games (eight at-bats). He holds an anemic .184 batting average this month, and hit his first homer since June 10 (at launching pad U.S. Cellular Field).
May 10, 2009
Adam Everett went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI in the Tigers' 5-3 win on Sunday. Everett is hitting .281 on the year.

Our View:Everett does not have much fantasy value, as he only has one home run on the year. He has little to offer fantasy owners, so only use him if you are desperate up the middle.
April 17, 2009
Shortstop Adam Everett has been scratched from Friday's lineup due to the flu, the Seattle Times reports. Ramon Santiago will start in his place against the Mariners.

Our View:We imagine that Everett is day-to-day. This news hopefully doesn't affect your fantasy team.
