Player Notes

Joe Crede has officially been shut-down for the season with a bad back, according to Kelly Thesier of MLB.com.

Our View:He's set to undergo back surgery next week. Crede hit .225 with 15 homers and 48 RBI in 90 games for the Twins this season.
September 15, 2009
Skipper Ron Gardenhire does not expect fragile third baseman Joe Crede (back strain) to return to the diamond this season, according to MLB.com.

Our View:Crede had trouble swinging the bat properly Sunday, as he went 0-for-4 with four strikeouts, and Gardenhire does not believe keeping him active will work out.
September 14, 2009
Joe Crede went 0-for-4 with four strikeouts on Sunday in his first game back since being activated off the DL, according to MLB.com. Crede said his back still didn't feel right, and it is unclear when he will play again.

Our View:Crede has been dealing with the back issue for awhile now, and it looks like he will continue to do so for the rest of the season. Don't expect him to see too many more at-bats this season, and no one should be relying on him for fantasy production down the stretch.
September 8, 2009
Joe Crede (back strain) has been activated from the 15-day DL, according to beat writer Kelly Thesier's twitter page.

Our View:Crede fared fine during a simulated game, and will be available off the bench for tonight's game at Toronto.
September 7, 2009
Joe Crede fared fine without any pain while taking batting practice Monday, according to MLB.com. He also took part in infield drills.

Our View:Skipper Ron Gardenhire noted that the oft-injured third baseman is feeling great, and as good as he is going to get. Crede could be activated from the DL by the weekend, barring a setback.
