Matt Herges has been recalled by the Colorado Rockies, according to the team's Twitter page. Herges will take the roster spot of the injured Aaron Cook.

Our View:Herges signed a minor league deal with the team in July, and he has been with their Triple-A affiliate for the last month or so. He was decent in his time with the Indians earlier this season, and he could be a nice addition to the Rockies' bullpen.

Matt Herges has signed a minor league deal with the Rockies, according to the Denver Post.

Our View:The Rockies have been really scrounging for bullpen help of late, and Herges actually had a respectable 3.55 ERA in 25.1 innings for the Indians this season. He has pitched in Denver before and is a good bet to get called up soon. He shouldn't be an option in any format, however.

The OC Register is reporting that the Angels may have some interest in the recently released Matt Herges. The Angels could use some depth in the bullpen, and Herges was decent with the Indians, compiling a 3.55 ERA.

Our View:Herges was actually one of the better relievers in the Tribe's pen, but the team decided to part ways. He isn't going to change the landscape of the division if he goes to LA, but he could be a nice addition to their bullpen. He will still have no fantasy value.
July 13, 2009
According to the Twitter page of the Cleveland Indians, pitcher Matt Herges has been released by the team and is now a free agent. Herges was designated for assignment by the team on July 4.

Our View:Herges was actually decent for the Tribe compared to the rest of their bullpen, but obviously the Indians feel they are better off without him. He holds no fantasy value regardless of where he ends up, so no need to keep tabs on his whereabouts.
July 4, 2009
MLB.com is reporting that the Indians are expected to designate pitcher Matt Herges for assignment to make room for the newly acquired Wilson Abreu. Herges is 2-1 with a 3.55 ERA this season.

Our View:Herges isn't having a terrible season, so this seems like an interesting move. The Indians' bullpen has been awful, but Herges is hardly the one causing it. He has no fantasy value, but don't be shocked if he gets picked up by another team.
