Player Notes
September 1, 2008
Updating an earlier story, Scott Linebrink's throwing session went well on Monday, so well that the reliever was activated from the DL, according to the Associated Press.

Our View:Linebrink has been out since late July because of inflammation in his shoulder. He performed very well prior to ending up on the shelf (2.31 ERA, 0.92 WHIP), and should reclaim a role of importance in the team's bullpen down the stretch, though his fantasy value will be restricted to AL-only leagues.

White Sox reliever Scott Linebrink will throw a simulated game today, and should everything go well, could be activated from the disabled list by Wednesday, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

Our View:Linebrink has been sidelined with shoulder inflammation, but was a key part of the Chicago bullpen, with a 0.92 WHIP and 2.31 ERA.
August 25, 2008
Scott Linebrink tossed 25 pitches in a bullpen session on Monday, and he will soon throw a simulated game, according to WhiteSox.com. "I don't know if I'd say I'm feeling better. I think the ball coming out of my hand today was a little better," Lienbrink said.

Our View:It's hardly encouraging news if Linebrink isn't feeling better. Nonetheless, he will solider on, rehabbing his shoulder with hopes of returning to the team sometime in September.
August 11, 2008
Scott Linebrink continues a slow progression with his injured shoulder and the team is hopeful that he will be ready to go by September 1st, according to MLB.com. "It's not 100 percent by any means. We're battling through some stuff and there's some discomfort, but that's part of it. I just have to accept that and work through it."

Our View:Linebrink's problems are all muscular, which at this point is good news. This injury has put a halt to a great first season in Chicago as Linebrink has posted a 2.31 ERA and a 0.92 WHIP.
August 8, 2008
Scott Linebrink isn't close to throwing a bullpen session, this according to the Chicago Tribune. The report noted that the White Sox set up man isn't expected to be available until late August at the earliest.

Our View:Linebrink even refused to offer up a possible return when asked. His fantasy value rested in leagues that awarded holds, and as a possible replacement if an untimely injury were to strike Jenks.
