Player Notes
June 29, 2008
Jason LaRue was an unlikely hero in Sunday's 9-6 win over the Royals. The catcher went 2-for-4 with a triple, homer, and four RBI.

Our View:LaRue is having a solid little run while filling in for Yadier Molina. We don't expect this veteran backstop to keep it up, but NL-only fantasy owners who plugged him in should be very pleased.
June 11, 2008
Jason LaRue hit his first home run of the year on Wednesday as he went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI for the Cardinals against his former team, the Reds.

Our View:LaRue is hitting less than his weight (.196) and serves basically as a day off caddy for Yadier Molina. Don't expect this nice outing to lead to any more work than he has been getting.
May 12, 2008
Jason LaRue was removed from Sunday action after his left knee became twisted on a play at the plate in the eighth inning against Milwaukee, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. LaRue struggled to get to his feet before getting help from trainer Barry Weinberg. LaRue finished the inning but was lifted for pinch-hitter Aaron Miles in the ninth.

Our View:LaRue underwent surgery on his right knee in March 2006. He stated after the game that he was only shaken and not injured. He made his ninth start of the season on Sunday, but is only hitting .091 over 33 at-bats this season, with no homers or RBI.
April 22, 2008
Jason LaRue is the starting catcher for the Cardinals on Tuesday, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. The team is facing lefty Manny Parra of Milwaukee.

Our View:LaRue is not worth fantasy consideration today as he is only 1-for-15 in limited action this season.
April 3, 2008
Jason LaRue has been handed the start at catcher for the Cardinals today. Regular starter Yadier Molina notably suffered through a poor spring training and is only hitting 2-for-8 so far in the regular season. This could develop into a platoon this season.
