Player Notes
May 26, 2008
The Braves have activated reliever Buddy Carlyle from the DL, according to the AP. Fellow reliever Chris Resop has also been designated for assignment.

Our View:Carlyle is needed because the Braves are not sure if Jorge Campillo (who has blisters on two fingers on his pitching hand) will be able to make his next scheduled start on Thursday against the Brewers. Carlyle made 20 starts for Atlanta in 2007, and went 8-7 with a 5.21 ERA. He could make a spot start, but does not merit fantasy consideration.
May 8, 2008
Buddy Carlyle was forced out of action against San Diego due to an apparent head injury, according to the AP. Pitching in his second inning of relief, Carlyle fielded a bunt along the first base line from Kevin Kouzmanoff, and made the tag as the third baseman collided with him, sending both players to the ground.

Our View:Carlyle walked off the field with the help of trainers and was replaced by Jorge Campillo. The Braves' pitching staff is seeminly cursed this season, as Carlyle was already filling in for starter Jo-Jo Reyes when he was forced to exit early due to an apparent finger blister.
April 15, 2008
Buddy Carlyle has been called up from Triple-A Richmond, according to MLB.com. Peter Moylan has been placed on the DL due to his elbow ailment, and Carlyle will fill his spot on the roster.

Our View:He will provide relief from the pen, but if Tom Glavine's right hamstring isn't healthy enough, Carlyle could potentially start Saturday's game against the Dodgers, according to the team.
March 30, 2008
With pitcher Buddy Carlyle's demotion to Triple-A Richmond, Jeff Bennett will get a chance in the Braves bullpen. Bennett will serve as the team's long reliever and will also be used as an all important spot starter. This is important considering the age and injury issues that consume the Braves starting rotation.
March 29, 2008
The Braves optioned Buddy Carlyle to Triple-A Richmond on Saturday, according to the AP. He posted a 5.40 ERA in six spring appearances and was outperformed by Jeff Bennett, who earned the final spot in the Braves bullpen.
