ESPN's Jayson Stark reports that a proposed deal sending Jon Garland to the Astros has no chance of happening as presently constructed. The White Sox were reportedly set to receive Taylor Buccholz and Wily Taveras, which apparently was not enough for GM Kenny Williams.

Ken Rosenthal of FoxSports.com is reporting that the White Sox could deal Jon Garland to the Astros for prospect Jason Hirsh, Wily Taveras and Taylor Buchholz. However, White Sox GM Ken Williams has said that a deal is not close.

FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal is reporting that the White Sox are close to dealing Jon Garland, most likely to the Rangers. Minor-league lefthander John Danks, considered to be one of Texas' better prospects, would likely be part of any Rangers package to obtain Garland.

Jon Garland has a rather large home/road split so far this season. At home he is 1-1 with a 4.05 ERA in 33 1/3 IP. On the road he is 3-2 with a 7.83 ERA in 43 2/3 IP. Overall Garland is 4-3 with a 6.19 ERA in 77 IP.

White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen said Jon Garland will remain in the rotation, even though Garland's ERA is 13.94 and current reliever Brandon McCarthy's is just 2.00, according to the Chicago Tribune. "Garland is my starter," Guillen said. "I'm going to stick with him until he says he can't do it anymore. I believe in him, believe he has great stuff."
