December 7, 2006 ESPN's Jayson Stark reports that a proposed deal sending Jon Garland to the Astros has no chance of happening as presently constructed. The White Sox were reportedly set to receive Taylor Buccholz and Wily Taveras, which apparently was not enough for GM Kenny Williams. |

April 15, 2006 White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen said Jon Garland will remain in the rotation, even though Garland's ERA is 13.94 and current reliever Brandon McCarthy's is just 2.00, according to the Chicago Tribune. "Garland is my starter," Guillen said. "I'm going to stick with him until he says he can't do it anymore. I believe in him, believe he has great stuff." |
