Corey Koskie has decided to hang up his cleats due to concussion-related issues over the last few years, according to the Star Tribune. He felt dizzy this week while diving for a ball at third base.

Our View:Koskie believes he can still hit, but does not want to have to worry about suffering another concussion.

Corey Koskie has agreed to a minor league deal with the Cubs, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

Our View:He will be given a fair shot to compete for a backup spot at third base, but his fantasy value would be limited.

Corey Koskie will represent Team Canada in the 2009 World Baseball Classic, according to the Pioneer Press.

Our View:Koskie has been battling post-concussion syndrome for years and hasn't played in the majors since 2006. Part of his interest in the Classic is a return to MLB. If he impresses, he'd at least be able to get a minor league deal.

The Brewers designated Corey Koskie for assignment on Monday, 10 days after the team declined his $6.5 million, 2008 option, according to the AP. Koskie did not play in 2007 as he battled post-concussion syndrome. He intends to try to play in 2008, but he's unlikely to be anything more than a role player wherever he ends up.

Not surprisingly, the Brewers have declined Corey Koskie's option for 2008. He missed all of last season with post traumatic concussion syndrome.
