Marlins' reliever Kiko Calero is being called day-to-day by the team with soreness above his right knee, according to MLB.com. Calero has said that it is nothing to worry about.

Our View:Calero said he injured the knee on August 1 in a game against the Cubs, but it doesn't look like anything to be worried about. Calero has a 2.04 ERA on the season, and he has been lights out when he has been healthy.

Kiko Calero has been activated from the disabled list, according to MLB.com.

Our View:Calero was having a huge season before going down in mid-June with a right shoulder injury, posting a 2.01 ERA and striking out over a batter an inning. Now that he's back, he could be in the mix for saves as the Marlins have been going with a committee since regular closer Matt Lindstrom went down. Calero's stuff profiles him as more of a closer than Dan Meyer or Leo Nunez, so keep a very close eye on him.

According to MLBlogs.com, Kiko Calero (shoulder) is scheduled to throw in a rehab assignment on Saturday at Class-A Jupiter.

Our View:Calero has been on the Dl since June 21st, but if his session goes well on Saturday he will have another on Monday and could rejoin the team in Arizona on July 9th.
June 24, 2009
Kiko Calero played catch on flat ground on Wednesday, according to MLB.com. He is on the 15-day disabled list with right shoulder inflammation.

Our View:The Marlins are hopeful Calero can return in early July. At the time of his injury, he was second in the bigs with 36 appearances and sporting a 2.01 ERA and 39 strikeouts in 31.1 innings. He has great value in leagues that use middle relievers.
June 21, 2009
According to the Miami Herald, the Marlins have placed right-handed reliever Kiko Calero on the 15-day DL with shoulder inflammation.

Our View:Calero, one of the most dependable relievers in the game, was second in the majors with 36 relief appearances hasn't pitched since Wednesday when his shoulder started acting up. Tim Wood was called up from Triple-A to replace him.
