The Marlins have interest in re-signing Kiko Calero, according to the Palm Beach Post.

Our View:They would likely offer him a small deal though, as the club has concerns about the durability of his arm. His fantasy value would remain limited as a middle reliever.

According to Mychael Urban on Twitter, the Giants are not interested in free agent reliever Kiko Calero.

Our View:The Giants have spent a lot of money and made a lot of moves this offseason and the team announced they have shut the door on any other big league signings. Thus, they are out of the running for Calero. The Marlins and Cubs are still interested however, and the coveted reliever likely won't be unemployed for long.

The Cubs appear to be nearing a deal with free agent reliever Kiko Calero, according to Fox Sports.

Our View:Calero is coming off a dominant 2009 campaign that saw him post a 1.95 ERA in 60 innings for the Marlins. He is seeking a two-year deal, but the Cubs don't want to go beyond one because of concerns over his injury history. Look for a one-year deal with an option for a second to be agreed to in the near future.

Kiko Calero would be an "interesting" fit in Boston in 2010, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View:As would most players coming off seasons where they posted a 1.95 ERA in 67 appearances while limiting hitters to a .180 average and seven extra-base hits. Despite his long injury history, expect Calero to have many offers to choose from this offseason.
December 28, 2009
The Cubs are believed to be interested in reliever Kiko Calero, according to ESPN Chicago.

Our View:Calero held a solid 1.95 ERA and 1.10 WHIP over 60 innings of relief with the Marlins in 2009. He will turn 35 in January, but could prove to be a key contributor for the Cubs' pen in 2010 if signed.
