Orlando Hernandez is nowhere close to returning to the Mets, according to the NY Daily News. He is very slowly recovering from foot surgery.

Our View:He has advanced to pitching off a mound, but the front office does not expect him back with the Mets until about one month after the All-Star break.

Orlando Hernandez has begun throwing off a mound in Port St. Lucie, according to the NY Daily News. El Duque is coming back from right foot surgery.

Our View:There is no timetable for El Duque's return.

GM Omar Minaya commented that Orlando Hernandez's return is still far off, according to the NY Daily News. He hasn't thrown off a mound yet.

Our View:He is slowly recovering from right foot surgery, and there remains no timetable set for him, but Hernandez remains confident he will return to the Mets' rotation.

Orlando Hernandez threw without a boot for a second straight day on Monday, and indicated he could be throwing off the mound within a week, according to the NY Post. Hernandez said, "I try to come back in two weeks, three weeks. When I feel good, I'll be back." Hernandez said he expects to start running within the next few days as well.

Our View:There is still no set timetable for him, but Hernandez is confident he will return to the Mets' rotation.

Orlando Hernandez has shed the protective boot on his right foot and has been cleared to do some light running, this according to the New York Daily News. Assistant GM John Ricco said El Duque, who visited team doctors in New York on Tuesday, no longer has tenderness with the tendon that was plaguing him.

Our View:There is no current timetable for the return of the veteran right-hander.
