According to overthemonster.com, the Red Sox have signed reliever Brian Shouse to a minor league deal.

Our View:The interesting thing about this scenario is that the Sox signed him back on January 4th, but it was just recently discovered as the club has yet to announce the move. Shouse was offered arbitration by the Rays on December 1st, but declined it about a week later. Last season in Tampa he held a 4.50 ERA over 28 innings.

Brian Shouse has been offered salary arbitration from the Rays, according to Marc Topkin's (St. Petersburg Times) twitter page.

Our View:The 41-year-old reliever held a 4.50 ERA over 28 innings with Tampa Bay in 2009. The lefty does not look to hold much fantasy value for 2010, regardless of what team he pitches for.
November 17, 2009
Brian Shouse filed for free agency on Tuesday, according to the Sports Network.

Our View:The 41-year-old lefty held a 4.50 ERA over 45 relief appearances with Tampa Bay in 2009. He could find work with a club looking for veteran depth in their bullpen.

The St. Petersburg Times is reporting that the Rays have activated relief pitcher Brian Shouse from the DL. Shouse has been sidelined since May with a left elbow strain.

Our View:Shouse will be a nice upgrade for the Rays' bullpen, as he has a 3.77 ERA in 19 appearances before the injury. His rehab stint went well, so look for the Rays to go to him regularly as the season goes on.
July 25, 2009
The Tampa Tribune is reporting that Rays' reliever Brian Shouse is expected to rejoin the team on Monday after finishing his rehab assignment over the weekend. Shouse is nearly recovered from a left elbow strain that has kept him on the DL since May.

Our View:Shouse has looked good in his rehab stint so far, and the team will welcome him back on Monday when he is ready to go. Shouse will be the third lefty in the bullpen, joining J.P. Howell and Randy Choate, so he will probably be somewhat limited in duty for the rest of the season.
