Scott Eyre underwent surgery today to remove floating bodies in his left elbow, according to the Associated Press.

Our View:The 37-year-old reliever pitched with the injury over the final month of the season. He will resume his career with the Phillies or will hang up his cleats.

Phillies' reliever Scott Eyre was walking without a limp in the clubhouse on Monday, according to the team's Twitter page. Eyre worked out and threw with coaches and looked good.

Our View:Eyre said he would be able to go today if called upon, and it looks like he was right. he made it through all tests administered by the coaches, so don't be shocked to see him come out of the pen tonight. Of course, with cliff Lee pitching the Phils might need anyone to come out of the bullpen.

Updating a previous report, Phillies' reliever Scott Eyre has been diagnosed with a sprained ankle, according to MLB.com. Eyre says he will be able to pitch Monday if needed, but manager Charlie Manuel believes he needs some time to recover.

Our View:This injury isn't nearly as bad as it could have been, but don't expect to see him tonight unless the Phils are desperate. If the team does advance, he should be good to go for the NLCS.

ESPN.com is reporting that Phillies' relief pitcher Scott Eyre left Sunday's game in the seventh inning after he turned his ankle while trying to field a Dexter Fowler bunt. No word yet on his status for Monday's Game 4.

Our View:It looked bad when he went down, but he did walk off the field under his own power. It would be a bit surprising if he was able to go tonight, but we will keep you updated on his status as it is released.

According to Todd Zolecki on Twitter, reliever Scott Eyre threw a successful bullpen session on Saturday and expects to begin pitching on Tuesday.

Our View:Eyre hasn't pitched since September 7th because of a sore left elbow, and he will require offseason surgery, but it looks like the steady relief man will be able to pitch into the postseason this year. He has a 1.61 ERA in 39 appearances this year.
