Player Notes
August 20, 2008
Baltimore catcher Ramon Hernandez did his part in the 11-6 win over Boston tonight, going 1-for-3 with his 13th homer of the season, totaling three RBIs and one run scored.

Our View:Hernandez has been fairly consistent this season and continues to provide quality offensive numbers at the position. However, after five homers in July with 14 RBIs, he has just one in August with 11 RBIs.
July 21, 2008
Ramon Hernandez went 2-for-4 with a double, homer, two runs, and two RBI against the Jays on Monday. He is 6-for-14 with two homers and six RBI in four games since the All-Star break.

Our View:Hernandez was a disappointment over the first half of the year. It's too soon to get excited about only four games, but his mini-surge is nice to see.
July 19, 2008
Ramon Hernandez hit a game-tying solo homer off the Tigers' Joel Zumaya in the ninth inning Saturday. It was Ramon's second hit of the game, which was won by the O's in the 10th.

Our View:A lot of people like Hernandez to bounce back this year. It hasn't happened, but hopefully this will get him turned in the right direction.
July 12, 2008
The Baltimore Orioles suffered a troublesome loss against the Boston Red Sox this evening, falling 12-1 with a total of three hits by the entire team. Only catcher Ramon Hernandez emerged as an offensive note, going 1-for-3 with his eighth homer of the season to total one RBI and one run scored.

Our View:Hernandez has struggled in July, going 8-for-35 coming into tonight. This was his first homer since June 30th.
July 2, 2008
The Orioles found the offense needed to give a strong pitching performance the support needed to garner the 5-2 win over the Royals, an effort largely pushed by catcher Ramon Hernandez . Hernandez went 3-for-4 at the plate with three singles and one RBI to show for the effort.

Our View:Hernandez showed signs of life with an improved batting average of .273 through June, and after going 2-for-4 last night with tonight's performance bolstering the streak, Hernandez now has hits in each of his last five games, including two home runs and six RBIs over that span.
