Octavio Dotel is an option to close out ballgames while Bobby Jenks is on the DL, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. Manager Ozzie Guillen said he will mix and match closers depending on the situation.

Our View:Dotel got the save in Wednesday's game, his first of the season, by striking out the side. He is still striking out batters at a rate of nearly 13 per nine innings, and if he is on the waiver wire and you need saves, picking him up could be a good idea.

White Sox reliever Octavio Dotel has turned up the heat in recent outings, posting at least one strikeout in 17 of his last 18 appearances.

Our View:Dotel struck out the only batter he faced in Saturday's 301 win over San Francisco and has been giving the White Sox reliable middle relief over recent weeks. He now carries a record of 2-2 with an ERA of 3.06, touting 27 strikeouts versus nine walks, allowing 11 runs on 16 hits over 17 2/3 innings of work.

Octavio Dotel was hit hard in his White Sox debut. The former closer gave up three runs on three hits, walked two and struck out two. Dotel was the pitcher of record in the Chicago loss.

Octavio Dotel blew his second save opportunity against the Brewers on Wednesday as he allowed four runs on two hits over his lone inning of work in a wild 12-10 loss. Hopefully he can settle down by his next outing.

Octavio Dotel was dominant over his lone inning of work against the Cubs on Saturday as he held them hitless with two strikeouts. He has been battling Scott Linebrink for the team's setup role, but he still holds a 11.05 ERA and will likely fall short in his bid.
