Bruce Chen gave up two earned runs on five hits over six innings in Thursday's 4-1 loss to the White Sox at Kauffman Stadium. He issued one walk and fired five strikeouts.

Our View:Chen pitched well, but was forced to take a loss due to poor offensive support from his teammates. Chen is 0-2 over two starts, and is only worth consideration for AL-only leagues for his next battle.

Bruce Chen was alright on Saturday in his first MLB start since 2006, giving up four runs off seven hits without any walks and two strikeouts in 6.1 innings against Pittsburgh.

Our View:He was able to show nice control and should hold onto his spot in the Royals' starting rotation for now.

Bruce Chen has been recalled by the Royals from Triple-A Omaha, according to the Kansas City Star. Reliever Kyle Farnsworth was placed on the 15-day DL as the corresponding move.

Our View:The veteran lefty has been slated to start Saturday's game at Pittsburgh. The 32-year-old held a 3.40 ERA over 14 games in Triple-A, and was 3-0 over his last seven outings. He is worth a look for deeper fantasy leagues if you need help at the position.

MLB.com reports that the Royals have signed veteran reliever Bruce Chen to a minor-league contract.

Our View:The 31-year-old Chen, who has not pitched in the majors since 2007, will not immediately report to Kansas City's minor-league camp because he is pitching in the World Baseball Classic for Panama.

The Rangers designated Bruce Chen for assignment on Saturday, according to the AP. He was 0-0 with a 10.20 ERA in 10 innings in five relief appearances and gave up four earned runs in four innings Friday night in a 16-4 loss Oakland.
