The Blue Jays now seem unlikely to target any big-name free agent outside of pitcher A.J. Burnett, MLB.com reports. "The last three weeks has changed a lot of thinking," interim president and CEO Paul Beeston says of the economic situation. "The biggest decision we have to make is what direction we're going to go with the team. We can spend $100 million, but if it doesn't make sense, why do it?" The Blue Jays were previously thought to be a leading contender for Milton Bradley.

Our View:This report won't bring many cheers among Blue Jays fans. We'll see if the club changes their tune again before or during the Winter Meetings on December 8-11.
November 30, 2008
The Rangers are likely to offer Milton Bradley salary arbitration, according to MLB.com.

Our View:Bradley is a Type-B free agent, so the the Rangers would receive a supplemental first-round pick in the 2009 First-Year Player Draft if he inks with another MLB team. It was previously stated that Bradley was a top target of the Blue Jays.
November 18, 2008
Peter Gammons of ESPN indicates that Milton Bradley is a top target for the Blue Jays.

Our View:Bradley has a poor track record with durability, but would be a solid and productive weapon for the Jays while intact.
October 1, 2008
Milton Bradley is coveting a multi-year deal, but the Rangers are not ready to satisfy his wish, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Our View:Bradley posts strong numbers when healthy, but missed 36 games this season due to various injuries, and is too risky to invest in with a long-term deal.
September 23, 2008
Milton Bradley had a good night, going 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI in the Rangers 6-4 win over the A's on Tuesday.

Our View:Bradley had been scuffling in September, but in his last three games has gotten back on track, going a combined 5-for-9 with two walks.
