MLB.com's Ken Gurnick reports that the Dodgers have reached a one-year, $825,000 deal with second baseman Ronnie Belliard.

Our View:Belliard was very productive for the Dodgers last year after coming over from the Nationals in a late-season move, hitting .351 in 24 games and even supplanting starter Orlando Hudson at second. That being said, he has not driven in more than 58 runs in a season since 2006, and has relatively little pop. He likely won't be worth a look in a majority of mixed leagues.

MLBlogs.com is reporting that the Dodgers have shuffled their batting order for Sunday's Game 3 against the Phillies. Second baseman Ronnie Belliard will hit second, while everyone else behind him will move down one spot.

Our View:Belliard has been swinging a hot bat in the postseason, and the Dodgers need to get something going offensively if they are going to stay in this series. Cliff Lee is on the hill for the Phils tonight, so the Dodgers will need all the help they can get.

The red hot Ronnie Belliard was at it again on Saturday. His 3-for-5, three-run effort sparked the Dodgers to an 8-4 win over the Pirates and included his tenth homer of the season.

Our View:Belliard is hitting .333 with five homers and 16 RBI since joining the Dodgers this season. He's been a nice late-season boost for a club destined to play into October.

Ronnie Belliard led the way for the Dodgers on Thursday as LA defeated Arizona by a score of 4-2. Belliard went 2-for-3 with three RBI in the game.

Our View:The Dodgers were led to victory tonight by their two newest players, as Belliard drove in three and Jon Garland picked up the win. Belliard will be on the bench more often than not, but he can provide some defense and the occasional hit when he plays.

According to the LA Times, the Dodgers have acquired second baseman Ronnie Belliard from the Nationals for right-hander Luis Garcia and a player to be named later.

Our View:The Dodgers wanted to beef up their bench and with the Nats trying to unload Belliard, it was a perfect fit. The portly second baseman is hitting .247 with five homers and 22 RBI this season and is in the final year of a two-year $3.5 million extension he signed in 2007. He's a versatile fielder who has spent time at first, second and third in 2009 and will give the Dodgers plenty of options. Expect his playing time to decrease dramatically though, so he'll no longer hold what minimal fantasy value he was carrying. The Nats get Garcia (22-years-old), who is a Single-A starter with a 2.92 ERA and a low 90's fastball.
