Player Notes
August 26, 2008
Toronto ace Roy Halladay was on his mark once again this evening, pitching six innings to surrender two earned runs on six hits with no walks and seven strikeouts.

Our View:Halladay now sits at 4-1 on the month, touting six walks versus 34 strikeouts along that span.
August 21, 2008
Roy Halladay notched his 15th win of the season, as the Blue Jays handed New York its worst loss of the season, 14-3 on Thursday night.

Our View:Halladay allowed three earned runs while striking out nine in his seven innings of work against the Yankees.
August 16, 2008
Roy Halladay tossed a complete game against the Red Sox on Saturday and improved to 14-9. The ace carried a shutout into the ninth inning, when he allowed a solo homer. Halladay finished with seven hits and one run against.

Our View:Doc isn't the frontrunner, but his name should be mentioned in Cy Young talk. He has now tossed eight complete games and ranks among the leaders in wins, ERA, WHIP, and BAA. Oh, and he's been excellent for fantasy teams.
August 9, 2008
Roy Halladay took the loss, and though he was not as sharp as usual, he still threw 6.2 innings, allowing one earned run and striking out six.

Our View:Halladay continues to roll, but came up a little short today. Don't hesitate to keep running him back out there in fantasy leagues.
August 7, 2008
Blue Jays manager Cito Gaston will be returning to the team next season, according to the Associated Press.

Our View:Gaston has Toronto playing above .500 since he took over. Unfortunately for them, it's not nearly good enough to be in the A.L. East race, though they are just 7.5 games out in the wild card race.
