The Mariners finalized their deal with the Nationals to acquire Jose Vidro deal on Monday, according to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. They sent Chris Snelling and Emilian Fruto to Washington in the trade. Vidro will see time at DH for Seattle and will backup at third, second and first base.

The Nationals and Mariners have a deal in place that would send Jose Vidro to Seattle for Chris Snelling and Emiliano Fruto, according to MLB.com. It's believed that the Mariners will pick up $12 million of the $16 million remaining over the final two years of Vidro's contract. The trade actually was agreed to Friday, but it needed Vidro's approval, because he has a no-trade clause. He was told by Mariners manager Mike Hargrove that he would be a designated hitter and a backup at third, second and first base. The trade won't be consumated until the players pass physicals.

Jose Vidro went 1-for-3 at the plate Sunday as the DH for Single-A Potomac, according to the AP. It was the first rehab appearance for Vidro, who was placed on the DL retroactive to July 18 with a left hamstring injury. There is currently no timetable for his return.
