According to the LA Daily News, injured first baseman Doug Mientkiewicz is set to begin a rehab assignment next Tuesday.

Our View:Mientkiewicz is recovering from shoulder surgery and was expected to be out until at least September, but he has made incredible strides in his rehab. He will give the Dodger bench a boost upon his return as he is a defensive wizard, but his fantasy value is nonexistent.

Our View:This is good news for the Dodgers bench, but irrelevant for fantasy owners. Mientkiewicz holds no value in any format.

Doug Mientkiewicz has been placed on the 15-day DL with his dislocated right shoulder, according to TSN.

Our View:He will need surgery, and is expected to be on the shelf for three months. He won't be missed in fantasy leagues as a utility man.

Infielder Doug Mientkiewicz will need surgery to repair his dislocated right shoulder, the Los Angeles Daily News reports. Team officials differ on his timeline for recovery, but he is expected to miss at least three months.

Our View:If backup infielders Mark Loretta and Blake DeWitt play well enough, the Dodgers will have no reason to rush Mientkiewicz back. It's safe for that one NL-only team out there that has Doug to drop him.

Doug Mientkiewicz dislocated his right shoulder sliding into second base in Thursday's win over the Giants, according to the Associated Press. He is expected to have an MRI Friday.

Our View:Mientkiewicz only had five at-bats on the season, but he did have two RBI on the play in which he hurt himself. Expect him to miss some time, but he isn't a fantasy option either way.
