Derrick Goold of the Post Dispatch reports that Moises Alou has decided to hang up his spikes after the WBC. The six time All Star had a fine career, but decided that he needs to listen to his body and call it quits at age 42. Alou closed with: "This is my last rodeo, like you guys say. It was a nice one."

Our View:This obviously takes Alou out of the fantasy mix. Unless of course your league has categories for golf scores and cocktails injested.

The Philadelphia Phillies are still interested in the services of outfielder Moises Alou, as well as infielders Mark Grudzielanek and Rich Aurilia, reports Jayson Stark of ESPN.com.

Our View:The World Series champs are looking for a right-handed bat off the bench, and each of these players would qualify. They are also interested in Nomar Garciaparra, though he may decide to hang 'em up.

Moises Alou has been transferred to the 60-day DL, according to the AP. The Mets acquired reliever Luis Ayala from the Nationals, and moved Alou to make room on the roster.

Our View:This officially puts an end to Alou's season, who was taken down by a torn hamstring.

Our View:Alou just can't catch a break, that is unless it is to his body. This could signal the end of Alou's career, too bad since the man can still hit. With Ryan Church's status also in doubt, the Mets seemingly will have to make a major move to replace the lost offense in the outfield.
