Player Notes
March 16, 2010
Mark Kotsay was 3-for-4 with an RBI in Tuesday's 6-1 win over the Rockies.

Our View:Kotsay is fighting for the White Sox's DH job, and is likely to enter the season in a platoon with Andruw Jones. It was thought that Jones would be the everyday starter, but Kotsay's fine spring (.391 avg, five RBI) has put him in consideration for playing time.
March 13, 2010
Mark Kotsay went 2-for-3 with two singles and two RBI in Saturday's 8-7 preseason loss to the Cubs.

Our View:Kotsay is still a quality player at 34, but likely won't see enough at-bats in a reserve role with Chicago to help fantasy owners outside of AL-only leagues.
November 5, 2009
The Chicago White Sox have announced that the team has reached on agreement on a one-year, $1.5 million deal with Mark Kotsay, according to reporter Joe Cowley. Kotsay is expected to be a key reserve for the team next season.

Our View:Kotsay was a favorite of manager Ozzie Guillen, so it comes as no surprise that he will be back for another season. He won't hold any fantasy value as a reserve, but he will be a nice piece for the Sox to use off the bench.
September 21, 2009
Mark Kotsay went 2-for-4 with a pair of singles in tonight's 7-0 loss to the Twins at U.S. Cellular Field.

Our View:Kotsay accounted for two of Chicago's eight hits in the game. He is hitting .378 over 45 at-bats this month.
September 17, 2009
Mark Kotsay went 4-for-6 with two RBI on Thursday, but couldn't will the White Sox past the Mariners, as Chicago lost 4-3 in 14 innings in Seattle.

Our View:Kotsay has been one of the White Sox best players this month, hitting .378 with three home runs and 12 RBI.
