Player Notes
July 1, 2008
Mark Kotsay went 0-for-4 with a strikeout, while leaving four men on base, in Tuesday's 8-3 loss to the Phillies.

Our View:This was his first game back from the DL, and he started in center field. Fantasy owners should wait until he gets back on track before considering him for starting duty again.

Atlanta outfielder Mark Kotsay has been activated from the 15-day disabled list and will be in the starting lineup this evening as the Braves face the Phillies, according to MLB.com.

Our View:The veteran center fielder had been sidelined since May 25th with a lower back strain. During a five-game minor league rehab assignment with Double-A Mississippi, Kotsay recorded six hits in 18 at-bats. However, he was able to swing and field his position without any trouble or discomfort and is ready to get back into action.

Mark Kotsay will end his Minor League rehab assignment with Double-A Mississippi on Sunday and is expected back in the Braves' lineup on Tuesday when they battle the Phillies, according to MLB.com. Kotsay is recovering from lower back soreness.

Our View:When Kotsay returns, Gregor Blanco could move to left field and continue his role as the Braves' leadoff hitter. Brandon Jones could be sent to Triple-A to make room for Kotsay when he is activated.
June 27, 2008
The Braves, who left Atlanta on Thursday only four games out of first place in the National League East, are hoping to see the return of several of their injued this weekend. Among position players, the Braves were missing third baseman Chipper Jones, center fielder Mark Kotsay, left fielder Matt Diaz and shortstop Yunel Escobar from the starting lineup on Wednesday.

Our View:Throw Omar Infante (hamstring) into the mix and the Braves are a mess.
June 25, 2008
Mark Kotsay is expected to return to the Braves next Tuesday for their series against the Phillies, reports MLB.com.

Our View:This is a relief for the Braves who have endured multiple injuries to their offense recently. Look for Kotsay to resume everyday outfield activities once he returns.
