According to TSN.com, the Mets have recalled pitcher Elmer Dessens from Triple-A Bufflao.

Our View:Dessens, who was DFAed earlier this season my the Mets, will join the team for the second time. He has posted a 3.65 ERA in nine games in his first go-round, and the 38-year-old righty has a career 48-62 record. He takes injured starter Jon Niese's spot on the roster.

After being designated for assignment last week, Elmer Dessens has cleared waivers and been assigned to Triple-A Buffalo

Our View:Dessens had a 3.65 ERA in 12.1 innings of relief for the Mets this season. He could be recalled at some point, but seeing as the Mets designated the 38 year old for assignment, and are dealing with a mostly lost season at this point, they may prefer to bring up younger players as the season winds down.

Elmer Dessens has been designated for assignment, according to the New York Post's Bart Hubbuch.

Our View:Dessens didn't pitch all that badly for the Mets this season, posting a 3.65 ERA in nine appearances, but the team needed to make room for Robinson Cancel. It's very possible that no one will claim him, so he could resume pitching for the organization at Triple-A Buffalo in ten days.

Elmer Dessens has been promoted by the Mets from Triple-A Buffalo, according to TSN.

Our View:Dessens earned the promotion with a 2.31 ERA over 35 innings in the minors. The 38-year-old vet could help the Mets' bullpen, but his fantasy value is limited to deeper leagues that use middle men.

Our View:The 38-year-old veteran only saw three innings of action this sprin, and he has racked up just 38 innings of regular season work since 2006. It seems unlikely he will be a factor in the Mets bullpen this season.
