Elmer Dessens has agreed to a minor league deal with the Mets, according to the Associated Press.

Our View:The 38-year-old reliever will pocket $700,000 in the majors and $90,000 in the minors. He will continue to hold little fantasy value in 2010.

FoxSports.com is reporting that the Mets might be interested in bringing back pitcher Elmer Dessens. Dessens posted a 3.31 ERA in 32.2 innings with the team last season.

Our View:The two sides are in discussions, and it looks like he could be brought back with what will probably be a minor league deal. He wasn't bad coming out of the bullpen for the team last season, so it wouldn't be a shock if they got something done soon.

According to TSN.com, the Mets have recalled pitcher Elmer Dessens from Triple-A Bufflao.

Our View:Dessens, who was DFAed earlier this season my the Mets, will join the team for the second time. He has posted a 3.65 ERA in nine games in his first go-round, and the 38-year-old righty has a career 48-62 record. He takes injured starter Jon Niese's spot on the roster.

After being designated for assignment last week, Elmer Dessens has cleared waivers and been assigned to Triple-A Buffalo

Our View:Dessens had a 3.65 ERA in 12.1 innings of relief for the Mets this season. He could be recalled at some point, but seeing as the Mets designated the 38 year old for assignment, and are dealing with a mostly lost season at this point, they may prefer to bring up younger players as the season winds down.

Our View:Dessens didn't pitch all that badly for the Mets this season, posting a 3.65 ERA in nine appearances, but the team needed to make room for Robinson Cancel. It's very possible that no one will claim him, so he could resume pitching for the organization at Triple-A Buffalo in ten days.
