The New York Post reports that the Mets have inquired about Royals' outfielder Jose Guillen and possibly moving Jose Castillo in return.

Our View:Guillen had 20 home runs and 97 RBI for the Royals this season but was more of a headache for Kansas City than a producer.

Royals outfielder Jose Guillen is hitting .397 in the month of September, and he will have a great opportunity to increase that number when he faces Chicago's John Danks on Sunday. Guillen has hit .417 (5-for-12) with two home runs in his career off the Chicago left-hander.

Our View:Guillen has been on fire in September, and surprisingly has his on-base percentage above .300 for the season. Fantasy owners should certainly continue to ride this wave.

Jose Guillen's career-high 14-game hitting streak came to end on Thursday night in the Royals' 12-0 win.

Our View:Guillen is only five RBI away from the century mark and if he can reach 100 it will be the second time he has reached the milestone in his career. It has been a tumultuous season for Guillen and the Royals and you might be seeing the last few games of his career in Kansas City.

The AP reports that Jose Guillen claims he was sick when being scratched from Wednesday night's lineup. The highest-paid player in franchise history, Guillen has been on a disruption-a-month plan almost since the day he signed a three-year, $36 million contract. After a relatively quiet first month of the season, Guillen called his teammates “babies” during a 12-game losing streak in May. June brought a profane tired about how he “could care less” about the home fans who were booing him. On July 5, Guillen had to be separated from pitching coach Bob McClure in the clubhouse in Tampa Bay. And just last month, he had a sitdown with general manager Dayton Moore after confronting a heckling fan during a game against Texas. Guillen hadn’t had an outburst in September yet, so there was concern that something other than an illness led to his late scratch against the Mariners. Turns out, he was just sick.

Our View:With 14 games remaining, Guillen is seven RBI short of 100. Let's hope he can keep his head in check long enough to reach that mark. Regardless of whether he does so or not, it's doubtful he returns to the Royals after such a tumultuous season.
