MLive.com reports that Carlos Guillen hit off a tee on Monday and has been throwing from 90 feet in an attempt to return from shoulder woes.

Our View:Guillen is currently working with a physical therapist, but he is slated to move on from that and continue rehabilitation with the Tigers on July 6th. The team reports he is "doing much better" but he will not return to action until several weeks after the All Star break.

FoxSports.com is reporting that Carlos Guillen has set a deadline by which he will have surgery if his ailing shoulder is not feeling better. Guillen's agent, Peter Greenberg, said the deadline is sometime in July, thus allowing Guillen to make a full recovery by the beginning of the 2010 season.

Our View:Guillen is still rehabbing with a trainer in Miami, but it is starting to look like a real possibility that he could miss the rest of this season. We should know more about his status in the next month or so, but his fantasy value is non-existent while he is on the shelf.

According to the Detroit Free Press, Tigers' manager Jim Leyland believes that "it's going to be awhile" before Carlos Guillen is able to return to the team. Guillen has been out with inflammation in his right shoulder, and no timetable has been set for his return.

Our View:While an MRI revealed no structural damage, Guillen is still a long way off. Leyland classified the injury as long term, so don't expect to see Guillen in the Tigers' lineup any time soon. Guillen owners should find a long term replacement if you haven't already.

Mlive.com is reporting that an MRI revealed no structural damage in Carlos Guillen's injured right shoulder. No timetable has been set for Guillen's return.

Our View:This is good news for Guillen, who was said to be doing pretty bad. With no structural damage, Guillen should be able to return sometime in the near future.

Carlos Guillen is slowly progressing from right shoulder inflammation, according to the Detroit News. He is not throwing or swinging and skipper Jim Leyland said, "I do not think he is doing too good."

Our View:He underwent an MRI on his shoulder Friday, and the Tigers are yet to disclose the results or update his status. Guillen has not played since May 4.
