According to the Houston Chronicle, Aaron Boone has been cleared to begin working out at home as he recovers from open-heart surgery.

Our View:Don't expect to see Boone in a baseball uniform this season, but the fact that he's recovering so well from such a drastic surgery is fantastic. Apparently his workouts aren't limited and he is expected to gain his normal amount of strength back after about a month of training.

Infielder Aaron Boone worked out with the Astros on Tuesday. He underwent open-heart surgery in late March. "I'm starting cardio and lower body and I'll start upping things in the next 10 days," Boone informs MLB.com. "Starting next week, I will have no limitations, and whatever I can do and fight through, I can do."

Our View:We still don't know if Boone will be able to return this season, and we thought the veteran might hang up his spikes after the operation to have a section of his aorta replaced and his aortic valve fixed. It's good to know he is doing well.

Aaron Boone is out of the ICU and is resting comfortably following open heart surgery performed Thursday at Stanford Medical Center in California, according to the Houston Chronicle.

Our View:Boone had a section of his aorta replaced and had his aortic valve fixed. He is expected to be released from the hospital Tuesday or Wednesday. His father, Bob Boone, believes the veteran infielder will have a shot to return to the majors if he wishes.

Aaron Boone began his heart surgery on Thursday morning at Stanford University Medical Center, according to MLB.com.

Our View:Boone needed a replacement of the aortic valve. It is unknown if he will ever be able to play baseball again.
