The Indians are still interested in trading closer Kerry Wood, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View:Wood is scheduled to make $10 million next season, an enormous sum for a cost-conscious, cellar-dwelling team. So far, his market is believed to be very limited.

The Indians would like to deal Kerry Wood at this week's winter meetings, or at least draw the blueprints for such a deal to take place at a later date this upcoming season, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Our View:Given that the Indians are not expected to contend for anything this season, it doesn't make much sense for them to pay $10.5 million to a 32-year-old closer. Keep your eyes on former Cardinal Chris Perez, who was phenomenal after coming to Cleveland last season and would surely take over the closing duties for the Indians should Wood be dealt.

FoxSports.com is reporting that the Indians are in no hurry to move closer Kerry Wood this offseason. The Indians have said they will listen to offers, but they do not plan on trading him unless they get blown away by a proposal.

Our View:The Indians would likely have to pay a significant portion of Wood's remianing $10.5 million salary, so there is no reason for them to feel like they have to make a move. Still, Wood could still be moved for the right price, but for now it looks like he will remain with the Indians.

ESPN's Buster Olney reports via Twitter that the Indians are willing to listen to offers regarding their struggling closer, Kerry Wood.

Our View:Wood is owed $10.5 million next season and has an $11 million dollar vesting option in 2011 if he closes out 55 games next year (a mark he will not likely reach). The Indians would like to unload Wood's salary and move young, affordable flamethrower Chris Perez into the full-time closer spot, but in a closer-rich offseason they may have a hard time finding someone interested in Wood. Let alone someone willing to eat his monster salary.
June 23, 2009
Kerry Wood claimed his ninth save of the season in Tuesday's 5-4 win at Pittsburgh. He gave up one earned run on two hits over two thirds of an inning, and had two walks and one strikeout.

Our View:Wood has allowed runs in each of his last four outings, and almost blew his third save of June. He will remain an unstable fantasy closer, especially with the struggling Indians.
