According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Craig Counsell is not in the starting lineup on Sunday.

Our View:Counsell usually leads off against righties, so it is a legitimate concern that his troublesome knee is acting up. He was removed for a pinch runner in the ninth inning of Saturday's game. Mat Gamel will replace him in the lineup.

Craig Counsell will start tonight's game against Minnesota at shortstop in place of the ailing J.J. Hardy (back spasms), according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

Our View:Counsell will bat leadoff as well. He is hot as he is batting 7-for-18 (.388) over his last four games. Opposing pitcher Anthony Swarzak will be making his first career start, and Counsell is worth employing in fantasy lineups if you have him on your roster.

Craig Counsell went 2-for-3 with two walks, a double, two runs scored, and an RBI as the Brewers defeated the Cardinals 8-2 on Sunday.

Our View:Rickie Weeks could be headed to the DL and if he does, Counsell figures to see a lot more time at second base. He has simplified his swing this season, and could be a decent option with multi-position eligibility in deeper leagues.

According to MLB.com, Craig Counsell will not have surgery on his ailing knee. He has a tear in the cartilage, but has opted to play through the pain.

Our View:Apparently the injury hasn't limited Counsell's ability in the field. That's good because no one is worried about his ability at the plate. The man with the stupidest batting stance in history only hit .226 last year.

Our View:Counsell has a cartilage tear, but can play through the pain. He would miss 2-3 weeks if he opts for arthroscopic surgery.
