Player Notes
February 27, 2010
According to Jeff Fletcher on Twitter, Rich Aurilia is still looking for employment and if he doesn't land with a team by the end of spring training he is going to retire.

Our View:Aurilia still wants to play for at least another year, but it doesn't sound like a club is willing to reciprocate. He's now 38 years old and played in just 60 games last season due to injury. Combine that with his .213/.256/.279 line with two homers and 16 RBI in 122 at-bats and it's no wonder that teams aren't banging down his door. So far no interested teams have been linked to him.
February 2, 2010
According to the San Jose Mercury News, Rich Aurilia isn't ready to call it quits and stated that he'd like to play for the Mets or Yankees this season.

Our View:It's nice Aurilia knows where he wants to go, but it's not exactly up to him. One of the New York franchises has to sign him first and he had just a 213/.256/.279 line with two homers and 16 RBI in 122 at-bats last year. He may get a spring training invite from one of the two clubs, but don't expect him to make any kind of impact.
November 23, 2009
Rich Aurilia would like to continue playing in 2010, according to ESPN.

Our View:It may be hard for the 38-year-old utility infielder to find a suitor after he hit .213 with just two home runs in 60 games for San Francisco last season. He's most likely at the end of the line.
August 7, 2009
Rich Aurilia has been activated from the 15-day disabled list and added back to the Giants major league roster.

Our View:This move is a bit of an upset since Aurilia is hitting just .210 this season and the Giants recently acquired Ryan Garko. The team must like his veteran leadership, but that doesn't translate into fantasy value.
August 7, 2009
Rich Aurilia went 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBI in his rehab start at Single-A San Jose, according to MLB.com. Aurilia has now made five rehab starts while recovering from a right big toe infection.

Our View:Aurilia hasn't done much with the Giants this season, and it looks like the road is nearing an end for Aurilia. Don't expect him to make any kind of impact with the team this season, if he even makes it back at all.
