Jorge Posada is not expected to represent Puerto Rico in the World Baseball Classic while rehabbing from shoulder surgery, according to MLB.com.

Our View:He remains hopeful to be ready to participate in time for spring training.

The plan is for Jorge Posada to be the Yankees catcher come opening day, and not just the DH, as had been speculated, according to the Lower Hudson Journal News.

Our View:Posada is rehabbing his surgically repaired right shoulder, and is preparing for the first time he'll throw.

Manager Joe Girardi expects Jorge Posada to be the Yankees' No. 1 catcher in 2009, according to the NY Daily News.

Our View:He is recovering from shoulder surgery and will start a throwing program December 1. Girardi realizes there are no guarantees, but believes Posasa can catch 120 games next season.

Jorge Posada underwent arthroscopic surgery Wednesday on his injured right shoulder in Manhattan, according to MLB.com. The operation was performed by Dr. David Altchek, and Posada will begin a rehabilitation program in four to six weeks.

Our View:Posada has been working in the DH role, but the team felt it was best for him to have the season-ending surgery following the acquisition of Xavier Nady.

Jorge Posada will have season ending surgery according to the Sports Ticker. He has a deteriorating right labrum in his shoulder.

Our View:Catcher Jose Molina will see the majority of starts in his place. He is hitting .228 on the season and does not offer much fantasy value.
