Player Notes
March 1, 2010
Mike Cameron sprinted around 100 yards and was able to hit and throw with no issues Monday, according to ESPN.

Our View:The veteran outfielder is feeling better after suffering a groin injury Sunday. He will not be in Boston's lineup in games early this week to be safe though.
February 28, 2010
According to Pete Abraham on Twitter, Mike Cameron will miss the next few days of spring training with a groin injury.

Our View:Were unsure as to how the Red Sox new center fielder was injured, but it doesn't seem to be very serious. He's only expected to miss a limited amount of time and should be fine by the time the full slate of spring games gets underway.

Updating an earlier report, Mike Cameron has agreed to a two-year deal with the Red Sox, according to Ken Rosenthal's (FOX Sports) twitter page. It is believed to be in the $15.5MM-range.

Our View:Cameron will likely serve in left field, with Jacoby Ellsbury staying in center and J.D. Drew in right. If so, that would make Jeremy Hermida the No. 4 outfielder. Cameron is good defensively, and brings some power after launching 24 homers with Milwaukee in 2009.
December 14, 2009
Updating an earlier report, the Red Sox are believed to be in serious talks with outfielder Mike Cameron, according to Ken Rosenthal's (FOX Sports) twitter page.

Our View:The two sides are said to be negotiating a two-year deal. It is uncertain if he would roam in center of left field with Boston. The 36-year-old still has pop in his bat, and has been an asset defensively.
December 14, 2009
The Red Sox are interested in free agent outfielder Mike Cameron, according to Buster Olney of ESPN.

Our View:The Red Sox are supposedly placing on emphasis on defense this offseason, and Cameron would certainly supply that. At age 36, he hit just .250 for Milwaukee last season, but did sock 24 homers and contribute 70 RBI. Were he to sign, it would most likely signal that Jason Bay will not be back in Beantown in 2010.
