Player Notes
September 4, 2008
Scott Rolen believes he can still be a productive major league player now that he has made some adjustments to his batting stance, according to the Toronto Star. Rolen lowered his hands to account for range of motion issues that have occurred due to his shoulder woes.

Our View:It's clear that Rolen will probably never be the same player he had been. His days of being a productive offensive player for fantasy owners are likely over.
August 28, 2008
Scott Rolen was out of the Jays lineup on Thursday night as his shoulder continues to bother him, according to MLB.com. Rolen hopes to be in the starting lineup on Friday when the Jays take on the Yankees.

Our View:Rolen's days of effectiveness at the plate appear to be finished, at least for this season. He struggles to do the most rudimentary things at the plate on most days, a fact that the Jays can't be too happy about considering that Rolen is due $26 million over the next two seasons.
August 26, 2008
The Blue Jays activated Scott Rolen from the DL Tuesday. He has been out with soreness in his left shoulder.

Our View:Rolen could help out AL-only squads a bit, but that's assuming his shoulder doesn't act up again.
August 19, 2008
Scott Rolen is currently rehabbing his sore left shoulder in Florida. The trainers are trying to "break up" the tissue in his shoulder to provide the third baseman with more flexibility, manager Cito Gaston informs MLB.com. Gaston is not sure if Rolen will be able to return to the lineup by next Tuesday, August 26.

Our View:Fantasy owners shouldn't be waiting on Rolen, who has a long history of left shoulder injuries.
August 10, 2008
Third baseman Scott Rolen was placed on the 15-day disabled list with continued soreness in his left shoulder, according to MLB.com.

Our View:Think the Blue Jays might want Troy Glaus back? Rolen's shoulder has been a problem for four seasons now, as he has undergone surgery on it three times since 2005. He'll clearly never be the same player he once was, and isn't someone who needs to be on fantasy rosters.
