Phillies outfielder Geoff Jenkins was activated from the 15-day disabled list on Wednesday, according to The Sports Network.

Our View:Jenkins will likely play just a part-time role, and with an average of .246 with nine home runs and 29 RBI, his fantasy value is minimal.

Geoff Jenkins, who is recovering from a strained hip flexor, could be limited to pinch-hitting duties once he returns from the DL, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Our View:Jenkins could possibly return before the end of the upcoming seven-game homestand, but won't hold any fantasy value in a limited role. He holds a .246 batting average with only nine homers over 284 at-bats.

Phillies outfielder Geoff Jenkins will take batting practice on Monday as he attempts to return from a strained hip flexor, according to MLB.com

Our View:The Phillies would like Jenkins to return by the end of the year, but Jayson Werth has played very well in his place.

Geoff Jenkins has been placed on the 15-day DL due to a right hip flexor strain, according to the AP. The Phillies purchased the contract of infielder Andy Tracy from Triple-A Lehigh Valley to fill Jenkins' spot on the roster.

Our View:Jenkins held little fantasy value with nine homers and a .246 average over 284 at-bats.

Geoff Jenkins left Friday's game against the Dodgers with a right hip strain after playing three innings, according to The Sports Network.

Our View:There is no word on how the injury happened, or if Jenkins will miss an extended period of time.
July 23, 2008
Geoff Jenkins hit his ninth home run of the season on Wednesday night for the Phillies. Shane Victorino also went deep in their 6-3 loss to the Mets.

Our View:Jenkins has really struggled this season in part time duty as he is hitting just .240 with nine home runs in 242 AB. With inconsistent playing time, and inconsistent work at the plate, Jenkins is nothing more than an NL only option at the moment.

Geoff Jenkins has been diagnosed with a bruised shoulder, according to the Philadelphia Daily News. In case you missed it, Jenkins was injured when struck in the right shoulder by the barrel of his bat when it broke midswing.

Our View:Jenkins is not expected to miss any time due to the ailment.

Our View:No word yet on how serious the injury is. We will keep you updated.
June 26, 2008
Geoff Jenkins has not gotten a hit in his last 21 at-bats, and is in a 2-for-36 slump after an 0-for-3 performance against Oakland.

Our View:Jenkins is struggling mightily, and has seen his batting average fall from .288 on June 2 to .239 after today. With only six home runs on the season, it may be time to look for a replacement on the waiver wire.
May 25, 2008
Philadelphia outfielder Geoff Jenkins put forth a strong effort today as the Phillies put an offensive clinic on against the Houston Astros, winning 15-6. Jenkins went 3-for-5, hitting his third home run of the season to finish with two RBIs and three runs scored.

Our View:Early struggles appear to be on the mend of Jenkins, hitting .309 through the month of May, though his three walk versus 12 strikeouts continues to hamper his true value.

Geoff Jenkins has had enough of spending time on the bench, but he realizes there may not be much he can do about with the team facing so many left-handed pitchers, according to MLB.com. "I'm bored," Jenkins said. "I've never seen so many lefties before in my life. It's a barrage, just one of the weird, quirky parts of the season. I can't see this happening again."

Our View:With Jayson Werth still tearing it up, he had a huge night on Friday, there just haven't been that many AB for Jenkins, especially since the Phils have faced so many lefties, an area in which Jenkins really struggles. Jenkins will continue to sit anytime a lefty is on the hill, but when the team faces right-handers, Charlie Manuel will have to decide how he wants to use Jenkins, Werth and Shane Victorino.
April 30, 2008
Philadelphia RF Geoff Jenkins continues to ramp up at the plate in the Phillies' 4-2 loss to the San Diego Padres. Jenkins went 3-for-4 at the plate but failed to produce a single run.

Our View:Jenkins was struggling to produce early, but he has gone 5-for-10 over his last three games (though his one RBI during that stretch is clearly disappointing).
April 13, 2008
With the top two leadoff candidates out of action due to injury, the Phillies placed RF Geoff Jenkins in the 1st spot of today’s batting order, according to MLB.com. In 11 years of MLB experience, Jenkins has never batted leadoff and had just four at-bats over the course of his career in such a spot.

Our View:Manager Charlie Manuel explained the desire to keep Chase Utley, Ryan Howard, and Pat Burrell intact in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th spots in the lineup were the critical factor in this decision, also adding that Jayson Werth was a consideration but was pushed into the 2nd hole to avoid having three left-handed hitters in a row. Jimmy Rollins is expected to return to the field on Tuesday, so the change will be short lived but intriguing.
March 26, 2008
Geoff Jenkins went 3-for-4 against the Yankees on Wednesday and needed a strong outing as his bat was quiet throughout the spring. He continues to try to solidify his starting spot in right field.
March 25, 2008
Geoff Jenkins had a tough day in the batters box against the Reds on Tuesday as he went 1-for-4 with three strikeouts, while leaving three men on base. His average dipped to .220 and hopefully he can close out spring training on a high note.
March 20, 2008
Geoff Jenkins has been quiet through spring training, but broke out at the plate against the Pirates on Thursday as he went 3-for-3 with one RBI, one hit good for a home run. He raised his average to .216 and hopefully he can build on today's performance as Opening Day nears.
