March 11, 2010
Long-time Rockies first baseman Todd Helton has agreed to a two-year extension with the club, according to AOL FanHouse's Ed Price. The deal keeps him in Colorado through 2013.

Our View:Considering that he will be 40 at the end of the 2013 season, this very well may be the last contract he ever signs. In 1,812 career games, all with the Rockies, Helton is a .328 hitter.
October 12, 2009
Todd Helton had his best game of the postseason in Sunday's 6-5 loss to the Phillies. The first baseman was 1-for-3 with two walks, an RBI, and a run scored in the loss.

Our View:Helton's power numbers are never going to blow you away, but his ability to get on base ranks with the best of them. The .325 regular season is only 2-for-12 in the NLDS.
September 1, 2009
Todd Helton blasted a three run homer in the fourth inning Tuesday against the Mets that put the game out of reach. Helton was 2-for-4 on the day and the Rockies went on to win 8-3.

Our View:Helton has now homered in back to back games after hitting just one from July 24th to August 29th. So the power is starting to come around, but the average has been there all year. He's hitting .327 on the season.
August 30, 2009
Todd Helton went 3-for-5 with a solo homer off Matt Cain on Tuesday, but the Rockies fell 9-5 and now share the Wild Card lead with the Giants.

Our View:The homer is just Helton's 13th this season and he has just four over the last two months. Still, for his part he's hitting .326. Good for third in the National League.
August 28, 2009
Todd Helton went 2-for-3, which included a leadoff single in the ninth inning, but couldn't help the Rockies past the Giants, as San Francisco won 2-0 at home.

Our View:If the season ended today, Helton's .321 average would be his highest since 2004, when he hit .347.
