March 25, 2009
Trot Nixon has been released by the Brewers, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Our View:Nixon struggled in spring training with a .105 average over 38 at-bats. He has been outperformed by outfielders Chris Duffy and Brad Nelson, and Nixon did not deserve a spot on the roster.
February 8, 2009
Trot Nixon could be the Brewers' top reserve outfielder for 2009, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. He will be competing with Tony Gwynn Jr. and Chris Duffy for the role.

Our View:GM Doug Melvin is hoping the 34-year-old Nixon could be this year's Gabe Kapler, as a veteran who bounces back to provide solid production off the bench. If Nixon does win the No. 4 outfielder spot, his fantasy value would still be limited.
December 18, 2008
The Brewers have reached a minor league deal with outfielder Trot Nixon with an invitation to spring training, according to MLB.com.

Our View:The 34-year-old is a career .274 hitter and has an outside chance of making the big league club coming out of spring training. He hit just .171 in 35 at-bats last season with the Mets.
June 27, 2008
Trot Nixon is starting in right field in Game 1 of the double-dip between the Mets and Yankees at Shea Stadium. Nixon is hitting sixth in the batting order against Yankee starter Dan Giese.

Our View:Nixon is hitting .148 in 27 at-bats for the Mets.
June 15, 2008
Recently acquired outfielder Trot Nixon is in the starting lineup for the Mets today, playing right field and hitting sixth.

Our View:Nixon was hitting .309/.437/.558 with 10 home run for Triple-A Tucson. Endy Chavez and Marlon Anderson will lose at-bats now that Nixon has joined the 25-man roster.
