"When I cover up an eye and try to get a clear vision, it's not there. At night, at dusk, I definitely have a tough time" However, he said he has continued to get better as the season has gone on. "I am starting to get a little more comfortable, so I expect my defense to pick up as we play through September and the playoffs," he added.

According to the AP, Johnny Damon had to leave Tuesday's game after he was hit in the neck by Tampa Bay shortstop Julio Lugo when the two collided at second base while Lugo was running after a loose ball. Damon stayed in the game after the collision, but was replaced in center by Cesar Crespo in the bottom of the seventh. "I'm actually fine,'' Damon said. "When Lugo hit my neck, my neck cracked about ten times. A little whiplash action. I'm penciled in the lineup tomorrow. Just a little stiffness in the neck."
