Billy Wagner wants to surpass John Franco's record of 424 for saves by a left-hander before retiring, according to Yahoo! Sports.

Our View:He needs 40 to do so. That means he'll either have to have a big-time and injury-free 2010, or pitch at least two more seasons. Neither scenario seems particularly likely. Maybe he'll prove us wrong.

It has been revealed that Billy Wagner agreed to a one-year deal with Atlanta worth $7MM, according to the Associated Press.

Our View:The deal is pending a physical. The 38-year-old reliever will likely be the Braves' closer if he proves to be healthy in 2010.

The Braves have reportedly agreed to sign Billy Wagner, according to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports. The deal is believed to be worth $7MM with a $6.5MM option for 2011 that vests if Wagner finishes 50 games.

Our View:Wagner was offered arbitration from Boston, so they would receive the Braves' first-round pick in the 2010 draft. The deal is pending a physical, as the 38-year-old reliever returned from Tommy John surgery last year.

Our View:Boston would receive draft pick compensation if Wagner signs with another team. The 38-year-old reliever is a Type A free agent, and Atlanta, Washington, Houston, Baltimore and Boston are among the teams interested in his services for 2010.

Our View:Wagner is a Type A free agent, but teams are inquiring anyway. Boston, Atlanta, Washington, Houston and Baltimore are among the clubs that have him on their radar. The Red Sox are the only potential suitors that would not consider him for the closer's role.
