According to an ESPN report, disgraced pitcher Roger Clemens has had his defamation lawsuit against former trainer Brian McNamee dismissed by a U.S. District Court judge in Houston.

Our View:Maybe now Clemens will finally get it - no one believes you, you are only making things worse and you need to go away. He must now focus his attention on McNamee's counter defamation suit against him. He might not like the outcome of that one either, we suspect.

A federal judge dismissed most of Roger Clemens defamation lawsuit against former trainer Brian McNamee, according to the Associated Press.

Our View:More problems for Clemens in the ongoing drama surrounding his alleged steroid and performance enhancing drug use.

The Associated Press reports that blood found in syringes allegedly used to inject Roger Clemens with performance-enhancing drugs revealed a link to the hurler's DNA. The Washington Post reported Tuesday that Clemens voluntarily gave a DNA sample to federal officials, but it is not certain whether the syringe in question ever contained steroids or any other type of illegal substance.

Our View:The Associated Press reported last week that the UCLA Olympic doping lab has substantial evidence at its disposal that will prove Clemens' former trainer, Brian McNamee, injected his client with illegal substances. For Clemens to be prosecuted, it must be proven that the syringe contained such a substance.

A grand jury is looking into whether or not to indict Roger Clemens on perjury charges for his testimony to Congress, according to the AP.

Our View:Of course, Clemens swore under oath that he did not take performance-enhancing drugs in the circus that was his hearing. Brian McNamee swore that the opposite was true, so one of the men was lying, and federal prosecutors are now taking it a step further.

The Associated Press reports that a sports medicine institute at a Houston hospital has removed Roger Clemens' name from its title. The Roger Clemens Institute for Sports Medicine at Memorial Hermann will end affiliation with the controversial hurler effective Jan. 1. “This change only affects the name of the Institute," the health care provider said. "Roger Clemens remains committed to working with us to champion youth sports and develop aspiring baseball players.”

Our View:A spokesperson from Memorial Hermann, the institute's parent company, would not specify whether the change was made in light of Clemens' alleged involvement in baseball's steroid scandal.
