While he didn't play in the 2001 trip to Royal Lytham and St. Annes, he did manage to finish 45th in 1996. In Hamilton's seven attempts to claim the Claret Jug for a second time after his win, he has managed to cash just twice and has not cracked the top 30.

Stanley finished 44th in the 2011 edition. While his 2012 season stalled not long after his win at the Waste Management Phoenix Open, he has recently shown a return to form. He has made the cut in each of his three starts since the U.S. Open, including a T60 at the Travelers, T22 at AT&T National and T19 at the John Deere Classic. If this week is to be decided by ball-striking, as some have suggested, he's got that covered. He ranks ninth on the PGA TOUR in that category.
